Most Expensive Pet Wedding

‘Every dog has its day’ is an old adage. Baby Hope Diamond, a Coton de Tulear and Chilly Pasternak a tie-dye poodle had their day, and it was their wedding day.

The wedding of these two pups helped the Humane Society of New York not only raise awareness but the affair also set a new world record as the most expensive pet wedding. The most expensive pet wedding was a $250,000 affair, and it literally was a gala affair.

Wendy Diamond celebrity animal rights activist and a celebrity on television adopted Baby Hope. Baby Hope is a white cotton de Tulear with black and gray markings. The groom was a dapper poodle, who goes by the name Chilly Pasternak, who belongs to the Pasternaks from Richmond, Virginia.  Online voters chose Chilly as the groom from an online competition launched by Baby Hope.

The record breaking pet wedding affair was held at the Jumeirah Essex House Hotel at Central Park. The gala wedding with no expenses barred. It was attended by more than 250 guests and more than 50 canine pets in their best outfits designed by Anthony Rufio. The team that managed and arranged this gala wedding reception included celebrity wedding planner Harriet Rose Katz, lighting experts with experience in designing lights for some major museums and some of the most renowned and celebrity chefs, among others.

Florists who created the floral decorations at the event were once part of the Bill Clinton’s team.
The wedding dress for both the bride and the groom cost $6,000 . The orchestra was a $15,000 affair, and the flowers decorating the Essex House’s grand salon were fuschia orchids and worth $30,000. James Chung celebrity chef for oriental foods rolled out a sushi table worth 5,000 USD.  The five tiered white wedding cake had sugar orchids on the side and a model bisou on the top. The cake was presented by TLC’s reality show ‘Cake Boss’ which is based out of Hoboken.

The wedding was officiated by Truimph, the Insult Comic Dog. He was dressed up in a gold bowtie tie matching with a tux. The floral chuppah under which the canine couple tied the knot was attended and photographed by numerous animal lovers and enthusiasts.  A pet food buffet followed the main event that was sponsored by a company whose co-owner features Ellen DeGeneres.

The $250,000 affair broke the earlier record of an expensive cat wedding in Thailand which billed a $16,241. The wedding was given recognition as the most expensive pet wedding by Sara Wilcox, adjudicator of the Guinness World Records. But the chance of offsprings from this celebrity couple is zero as they have been spayed and neutered.

Guests paid a $250 fee to be part of the event, which went to the benefit of the Humane society of New York. Almost all of the ceremony was from donations, and that’s what makes it more special. Diamond was later quoted to be saying that these lovely canines and the whole ceremony was aimed at raising awareness for homeless animals and unwanted pets from being euthanized.

The proceeds from the wedding can go to the Lucky Diamond Critical care ward at the Humane society of New York.
