Apple's Car Gets New 2019 Ship Date After Project Team is Tripled

With so much attention on all-electric autos and driverless designs lately, it’s really no surprise that Apple has apparently fast-tracked their own energy-efficient baby—which has been codenamed Titan. According to The Wall Street Journal, the electronics empire has a new 2019 target ship date in place for their upcoming design, apparently tripling the project’s previous team of 600.

Clearly proving that they can dominate an entire market, Apple has already spent more than a year researching the automotive industry and has even been in contact with California government officials. Though a fully-autonomous car is definitely in everyone’s future, “people familiar with Apple’s plans” report that the company probably won’t lead with one, instead choosing to keep it a part of their long-term goal.

Sure, 2019 is only a year sooner than their original date of 2020, but think of it this way, that’s 365 days closer to today.
