If you’ve never been invited to a prestigious Playboy mansion party, this is your (pricey) chance to party with Hef.
Hugh Hefner, creator of Playboy Magazine, has listed the world’s most famous party house for $200 million. Located in Holmby Hills, Los Angeles, California (near Beverley Hills), the 21,987-square-foot is used for more than corporate events and social ‘gatherings’. The mansion has also served as a prime location for television production, magazine photography, online advertising, and sales events.
The Playboy mansion was originally built in 1927, and was purchased by Hefner in ’71 for $1.1 million. The 5.3 acre property includes 22 rooms, a wine cellar, a screening room, and a game room. Maybe the oddest amenity of all? Hugh Hefner himself.
The new owner, as part of the deal in acquiring the mansion, has to let Hugh stay there until he dies. Prospective buyers can tour the property except for Hefner’s palatial bedroom – which will be off-limits.
It’s a bit strange to fork over $200 million and not have access to parts of the house, but maybe the Hef will throw his new roommate a house-warming party.
